As expected CMS is proposing changes in routine home care
rates. A higher rate will be paid for
the first 60 days of coverage and a lower rate for days of coverage beginning
on day 61. They have also proposed a
service intensity Add-on for the last 7 days of life if certain criteria are
met. CMS estimates that hospice will
receive $200 million increase in payments for last year.
